SECAUCUS, NJ – Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise announced today that the County will open a designated testing center for the COVID-19 Virus at Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus on Tuesday, March 24th. The testing center will provide by appointment service only. Starting at noon tomorrow (Monday) appointments may be made by calling 201-388-1097.

The testing site will operate 10am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday. It will also be able to test our first responders and expedite their return, so they can continue to perform their important public safety duties.

“Hudson Regional Hospital has the medical staff, facilities and circulation capacity to allow us to best respond to the need for COVID-19 testing,” says County Executive DeGise. “In addressing this crisis, we have been measuring many factors and we are encouraged that this collaboration provides us the a high-performing program enabling us to safely screen, test and treat patients.”

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak, all HCIA-sponsored Mobile Shredding Events, Compost Bin/Rain Barrel Sales Events and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events are cancelled until further notice. CASINO IN THE PARK DEMOLITION SERVICES
JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by The Hudson County Improvement Authority (the “HCIA” or the “Authority”) at its Administrative Offices, 830 Bergen Avenue, 9th Floor, Jersey City, New Jersey 07306, on November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., prevailing time. On such date and at the above time and place, in accordance with the provisions of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, such bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following contract.

The HCIA is soliciting bids for the provision of Demolition Services for the Casino in the Park facility located in Lincoln Park, Jersey City, New Jersey. Services include but are not limited to; removal of existing pavement, demolition and proper removal and disposal of the existing structure (including basement and foundations) and site restoration. All work shall be completed in accordance with the Authority’s Bid Specifications.

Bids for Disposal Services for Processible and Non-Processible Waste are due to be received at the offices of the Hudson County Improvement Authority at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, located at 830 Bergen Avenue in Jersey City.

Details of the funeral arrangements have just been released for Jersey City Police Detective Joseph Seals, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on December 10th. The funeral for Detective Seals will take place on the morning of Tuesday, December 17th. The funeral procession will occur on Bergen Avenue directly in front of the HCIA offices located at 830 Bergen Avenue. The funeral mass will be held at St Aeden’s Church, located at 800 Bergen Avenue. It is expected that a strict security and traffic cordon will be placed around the entire area beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. through mid-afternoon on Tuesday, December 17th. Vehicles will be barred and pedestrian access will be subject to significant restrictions.
